Autumn musings…

My favorite holiday is Christmas, but my favorite season is Fall.  I’m trying to squeeze in as much outdoor time as possible, before Winter arrives.  But I’m also unbelievably busy right now, trying to do fun things with the dogs, spend time with my grandkids, doing yard work and still get all the therapy dog visits done.  I am getting so many requests for visits, I’ve actually had to start turning people down.  I ended up joining a local chapter of our therapy dog group, hopefully I can pass along some of the visit requests to other teams.  And it will be nice to meet up with other teams for some of the upcoming events, instead of always working independently.

Last week I took Addi to the pumpkin patch, it was her first visit and she did a great job posing for pictures.  She was definitely the cutest Pumpkin in the patch!

We also took my grandsons to a different pumpkin patch, and all the kids got to pick out their own pumpkins!    This weekend we are supposed to be going to an outdoor barn hunt clinic, if it doesn’t rain yet again. (It’s rained every weekend for the last month!)  And the following weekend is the next barn hunt trial.  There will also be a cluster of dog shows, and my youngest grandson’s 1st birthday is right before Thanksgiving.  But first, Halloween is fast approaching, and I decided to participate in a “trunk or treat” event on Saturday evening.  With fairs, barn hunts, dog shows, beautiful fall foliage, pumpkin patches, Halloween and other fun events, there is little wonder why I love this season!  I just wish Fall was longer and Winter was shorter!

Tate does his first review

Somepup loves his new toy from Chewy.com!  We were sent a Busy Buddy Puppy Twist 'n Treat Toy to review.

This toy can be filled with treats or kibble.  As the dog or puppy plays with the toy, it dispenses a couple treats at a time.  Since Tate is just 6 weeks old, we used his puppy kibble, as he is too little for dog treats. The Busy Buddy was small, and though it comes in other sizes, because it's rated for soft chew strength, we think it would be best for puppies or small dogs only.

What we like about this toy is that it not only keeps an active puppy busy, it helps to develop a puppy's problem solving skills.  When we asked him what he thought, Tate gave it four puppy paws up!  With Christmas right around the corner, this would make a nice gift for your small dog or puppy.  Thank you Chewy for sending us the Busy Buddy to review!

Chewy also sent us the  KONG Triangle Play Mat for Pumpkin and Ghost to review.  We loved how pretty it is, but it is very small.  That didn't stop Ghost and Pumpkin from squeezing inside, but it was a bit of a tight fit.  Ghost being an adolescent male is thin and lanky, and Pumpkin is on the petite side for an adult female cat, so they made it work.   But I don't think chunky "larger boned" felines will fit inside the play mat.

But on the positive side, the cats do love it, and we catch Ghost napping inside it all the time.  And they enjoy swatting the cute dangling mouse.  So this would be a great gift for smaller cats and kittens.  Thank you Chewy for sending the Kong Triangle Play Mat.  I'm sure there will be some happy cats on Christmas morning if this is under the tree!

Pumpkin's turn...

The second item we were asked to review for Chewy.com made our kitty, Pumpkin, a very happy feline! They sent us Orijen's Tundra cat treats.

Now Pumpkin will steal and eat dog cookies whenever she sees an opportunity, she is a small cat with a tiger's appetite.  However, she really loves when we give her treats made specifically for cats.  So we expected her to appreciate the cat treats sent to us by Chewy, but she absolutely devoured these treats!  When you check out the ingredients, it's easy to see why she went crazy over these morsels!  This is a product you can feel safe giving to your cat, it's GMO and grain free!

The Return of the Queen

Pumpkin Kitty here, and time for another fabulous post by me, the fabulous feline.

While the collies will tell you that I am just one of the pack, and that I believe myself to be a collie too...they couldn't be more wrong!  Just because I enjoy a fun game of "chase the collie around the house," doesn't mean I am confused about my species!  Anyway, the awesome folks over at Chewy.com sent me some treats to review...because they know it isn't ALL about the collies around here!

They sent me Zuke's Natural Purrz cat treats, the Tasty Tuna Recipe.  And while I am finicky, I have to admit that these treats were delish!

This time the servants humans kept a close watch on the treats, they didn't want me to indulge my inner lioness and devour the entire bag in one feast!

As you can see, I did give it a valiant attempt!  But they are being stingy, and only doling out a few treats per day.  But these treats are worth the wait, and so I will sleep right here, and wait until it's time for more!

So if you want to embrace your inner tiger, you should get your slaves humans to buy you some of these treats too!  Just have them click on this link:

The collies, and Pumpkin Kitty, are asked to do a review!

The collies, and their kitty sister, Pumpkin, were asked to do a review for Chewy.com!

We waited until Abby's Birthday to try these Primal dog treats, since her birthday is always a cause for celebration.  And with a name like Primal, we knew we needed to find an unusual setting to do this review.  So we decided to take the treats with us to a local lighthouse.  The ocean, sky and the solitary lighthouse seemed like the perfect setting to enjoy "Primal" dog treats.

Abby, Scarlett and Holly took the review very seriously!

Can I have one now?

Abby is so ready to try these treats!

Abby thought the treats were packaged in a pretty, appetizing manner.  Being a label reader, I was more concerned with the back of the package.  And when I scanned the ingredient list, I was very pleased!  There is only one ingredient in Primal Foods Liver Munchies - and that ingredient is Turkey Liver!  These treats are gluten free, grain free, and made in the USA.  But what about the taste?  The collies all voted, and after much drool, and taste testing, they give Primal Foods Liver Munchies their highest rating - 4 PAWS!  This is a product I would definitely buy for my collies.

We were actually lucky enough to be asked to do another review on a Primal Foods Product in the past - you can find it here:  Primal Foods

But it wasn't only the collies who were invited to do a review.   Pumpkin kitty was also sent treats by Chewy.com.  They sent her a bag of Blue Buffalo Kitty Yums, Savory Salmon version.  And apparently these treats were so delicious she could not wait until we returned from the Lighthouse.  (we were only gone about an hour!)  She ripped open the bag, and had a kitty feast!  As you can see, she LOVED these treats.  Blue Buffalo made a truly irresistible flavor when they created these cat treats.  Pumpkin gives these treats her highest rating - 4 PAWS, and is insisting we buy another package tomorrow!

Now this is the face of a contented cat!
