What a beautiful week!

This week we had some exceptional weather!  It’s been sunny and in the 70’s, so we have been heading outside as much as possible, before the cold weather sets in and I start to hibernate. I’m really hoping this mild, Autumn weather lingers through the end of October.  It’s such a joy to hike with my collies amidst the beautiful Fall foliage with the sunlight setting all the leaves aglow in the trees surrounding us.

This was taken on our hike through Chatfield Hollow

We don’t get to Chatfield Hollow often, but it’s a lovely State park.

This season is providing a never ending display of color and sunshine.

This was at Quinnipiac University, after a therapy visit this week

And of course, we visited Strawberry Hollow Farm again

What’s your favorite season?  Please let us know in the comments!

All Things Autumn…

With the advent of Autumn, I am always inspired to grab my camera and a collie and head outside to try and capture the beauty of the season.  The Fall colors seem created to complement the sable and white collie in particular, providing a perfect backdrop to display their lovely coats.  This weekend we were gifted with sunshine and mild temperatures, so Addison and I headed to my favorite pumpkin patch.

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” — Lauren DeStefano

“I loved autumn, the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there just for the beauty of it.” — Lee Maynard

“She looked like autumn, when leaves turned and fruit ripened.” — Sarah Addison Allen

“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face.” — John Donne

Fall is here! (Well, almost, officially it will be here on Sunday)

It’s no secret that we love Fall.  With the fairs, and fair food, Halloween and Thanksgiving, apple picking and hiking, what’s not to love?  It also happens to be our favorite time of year to photograph the collies amid the Autumnal splendor.  There will be many Fall collie pictures on the blog over the next few weeks, but I haven’t taken any pictures yet.  The leaves are just beginning to change here in our corner of New England.  So in the spirit of the Autumn season, I wanted to share one of my favorite Fall pictures.  This picture is of our first champions, Holly and Abby.  Abby, CH Marchello’s Seraphim Song, was our foundation bitch.  And all our collies are related to both her and Holly, CH Accent Marchello Holiday. These two girls, along with our first collie, Lad, are the reason we are obsessed with all things collie…

We hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful Fall weather, and getting outside to get a peep at the beautiful foliage.  Please be sure to return soon, so you don’t miss any of our upcoming picture spam posts!  Happy Fall Y’all!

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

Fall has arrived!

Fall is here!  We love this season so much, it's the perfect time for photographing the collies, and hiking before the weather turns frigid.

We took a little blogging break, but for a very good reason!  Unfortunately, we are a little late posting a review for Chewy.com.  But since we are reviewing Blue Buffalo's Boo Bars, and Halloween is right around the corner, this post is timely.

These dog treats are made with ingredients that are sure to please most dogs. The collies loved them, and would have eaten them all in one sitting.

And what kept us away?  This little guy!

He can't wait until he is big enough to try these treats!

The crisp evening air, and the crinkle of the leaves underfoot mean Fall is here...

Fall has arrived here in New England, and we have been taking hikes, to enjoy as much of the Autumn foliage as possible.  It seems like I claim every season is my favorite, with the exception of Winter.  But I do love this time of year.  Everything is so beautiful, and the Fairs and cooler weather just make me long to spend more time with my family…and of course, my collies.  So here are some recent pictures we captured on our drives and hikes here in New England, hope you enjoy them!

And Summer turns to Fall....

Fall is one of my favorite seasons.  The air turns cooler, and with the change in temperature, it brings a distinct change to the world around us.  The trees dazzle us with their autumn finery, adorning themselves in rich shades of red and gold foliage.  They put on such a beautiful show, that leaf peepers begin driving up and down our local highways and back roads, just to soak in all the stunning colors.

The local towns hold their fairs, as Farmers complete their harvesting.  And pumpkins soon begin appearing on front porches to greet visitors, and chase away scary spirits.  We also love Fall because of all the seasons, it seems to complement our collies best.  We never fail to get some amazing pictures, while our collies indulge us by posing for the camera.  So I thought I would share some of our current and past Fall pictures, and hope you will all join us in celebrating this wonderful season…

This fall...

A Fall hike with the collies...

Sunday was another beautiful Fall day here in New England. So my daughter and I grabbed the collies and we headed to the small state park in our town. As usual, we had the entire park to ourselves, so it was peaceful and we were able to enjoy our hike undisturbed!
