Today is one of the hardest days. Today we had to say goodbye to the best boy, to my best friend, Ryder. I’m feeling lost and heartbroken, and I just don’t have the words to adequately describe the loss of my beautiful boy. He was perfect inside and out, and will leave a huge hole in my life and in my heart. I knew this day was coming, but I still wasn’t ready. While we were blessed with 14 years together, it still wasn’t long enough.
We're so sad to see that Ryder has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. You were so blessed to have many wonderful years with him and have so many memories to cherish. We send warm hugs to you and all your family.

ReplyDeleteThere was a quote by some author I saw years ago that was, basically, the short lives of dogs was a gift of mercy from God to us, for if they lived longer, their passing would destroy us.

I didn't know Ryder, but he was clearly a loved old fellow. I am glad that he was able to see his fourteenth birthday, but seeing his fifteenth would have been even better. It's never long enough, never. Godspeed, Ryder.
