The day was beautiful, perfect for hiking. We brought Abby and Holly, since they missed the last hike to the waterfalls. Ryder came too, because he loves hiking so much. Everyone seemed to enjoy seeing the collies, they received a lot of attention. I lost count of how many people, passing us on the trail, called Ryder by the name "Lassie!" All the children loved him, and many told their parents that they wanted a dog like Ryder. He loved all the attention, so did Abby and Holly.
The first half of the hike is all up hill, so it took us awhile to reach the top. The trail wound through trees, so it was shaded for most of the hike.
We had to take a few breaks along the way, for Abby and Holly...and for me!

Abby and Holly hiked in tandem almost the entire way!
We finally reached the top, where the Lookout Tower is located.
I think the collies enjoyed the day, but they are all sound asleep, exhausted from the hike! This hike was part of our participation in the Parkday 2.0 game. With today's hike, we won two more Bingo's!

What a neat place to hike. It does look like a Giant Sleeping ... how cool! Taking Collies places is like taking a celebrity I have found out. They get so much attention from everyone and the Collies love every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteThey really do! After the first 20 or so hikers greeted and fussed over them, I caught the collies eyeing the other hikers, waiting for them to acknowledge their awesome collieness! lol
DeleteYou had a beautiful day for that awesome hike! Congrats on your bingo wins!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
It was a long hike, probably made longer because we took the two older collies, and me. I was definitely a contributing factor in the slow progress we made! lol
Deletethat was a wonderful place to go for a walk and I think all rough coated collies male or female get called lassie :) :) He is beautiful that is for sure
ReplyDeleteHe was eating it up, he starting crying at people if they didn't say hello to him! lol
DeleteWhat a beautiful hike! That picture of Abby and Holly hiking side by side is too cute!

They are such good companions. Always keeping pace, and never annoying each other.
DeleteOMD OMD OMD, you got your SECOND AND THIRD BINGO!!! Congratulations! I am so glad you are having fun with it!!! I like that sunset picture, very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNow that we are back to work, our Bingo progress will be slowed down. We are having so much fun with this, and it's making me find new places to hike with the collies...which they love!
DeleteWe are so ready for the sun to come out and let us back on our spring trails.
ReplyDeleteI hope you post pictures of your hikes! We love your daily posts!
Deletewhat a gorgeous place to hike! Simply beautiful!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
ReplyDeleteIt was a really nice park, but the trails were pretty crowded. Probably because it's across the street from a large univerisity.
DeleteWow that is a fantastic park, love the photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Are you doing the Parkday 2.0 game too?
DeleteYou Collies rock! 3 bingos already and the month is just starting...Can't wait to see all the places you bring us over the next few weeks Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI am trying hard to find new places, so each park post will be different. The collies are so appreciative of this game!
DeleteI just said to Hubby, I want to start hiking the dogs in other places at least once or twice a month. They'd enjoy exploring new things.
ReplyDeleteThis Parkday game was a great idea. We are visiting so many parks with the collies as a result, and they love it! Sleeping Giant is a great park if you are looking for new places to hike. There is suppose to be a waterfall in the park too, but we didn't make it to that trail.
