Yesterday was a very exciting day! It was Scarlett's 1st birthday, and she decided she wanted to go on a hike for her special day. We took Scarlett, Ryder and Kori on the hike, and promised Abby and Holly they would get to do something special this weekend.
I have been wanting to take some pictures of waterfalls, so we piled into the van, and headed out. The nearest park with waterfalls was on hour away, but it was worth the drive!

As we followed the trail we discovered a surprise! There was a covered bridge!

We had a wonderful hike, and will definitely be going back to this park. The collies really seemed to enjoy this lovely, peaceful park!
They remind Mom of Gooseberry falls in Minnesota. Ryder and scarlet looks wonderful in their photos - Mom says she has to admit Ryder is her favorite - no matter how many times she sees them - she can't quite get use to smooth collies - they just don't look right to her without long fur. Mom has always had long haired dogs - in fact her brother use to breed rough coat collies back home in Australia. He always promised her one when she "was old enough" but she never got one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place to hike! I envy you! All our favorite hiking spots are closed because of flooding. We can't wait to get back on the trails. Those waterfalls make fantastic backdrops for you!
