Kitty time on the collie blog!

Pumpkin here!

I decided to hyjack the collies' blog today.  It's high time there was a post about, well, me!

I'm sure you are wondering what it's like living with five collies!  Most days I really enjoy living with them.  When I was first adopted, I was really little.  My kitty family lived on a farm and a racoon was hunting my littermates.  So I was adopted at a pretty young age.

But being adopted by a family with collies ended up being a very nice thing!  Because the collies love me!  They don't mind snuggling with me one bit!  So I was never lonely, and never missed my brothers and sisters.

And my human family members think I am just about the cutest, prettiest cat they have ever seen! (what do you think?)

(I have to admit, I think I was adorable!)

Around the time I was adopted, Kori and Ryder, and the brother Luke were just tiny puppies.  So I ended up becoming one of the litter! (they even shared their food with me!)

Some days my life is a little challenging, like when the humans dress me up for Halloween!  (but at least they make me look pretty!)

And these collies need a lot of supervision!  Sometimes it's a never ending job!  But they really do love me...

Still, it’s a pretty nice life, living with five collies and two humans.  I get lots of love and attention.  The collies don’t mind when I steal their dog cookies or toys.  And most importantly, there is always someone to play with!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post about me!  I have to run though, here comes the collies!

Christmas with the collies!

Oh My Dog!  Did we have a wonderful Christmas!  On Christmas Eve, Mom went out to dinner with Grandma and Aunt Karen, then they went to Midnight mass.  (Which was held at 10:00, so Mom wasn't out too late!)  We didn't get to go to dinner or mass, so we waited at home, and kept watch for Santa.

Christmas morning we woke up when Mom's alarm went off.  Our human sister had to work at the dog kennel, to take care of all the dogs who were spending their Christmas there.  So we all had to get up early, but we really didn't mind.   Holly jumped up and started barking as soon as Mom's alarm went off.  She never does this, but she was extra excited because it wasn't just Christmas, it was also her birthday!  We didn't see Santa, but he did stop by our house!  We aren't sure how he got in without waking us up, but he gave us so many presents!  Kori ran right for the presents, and grabbed one.  She remembered her first Christmas last year, and couldn't wait for the rest of us.  Before our sister went to work, we were each allowed to open one present!

Mom dropped our sister off at work, and came back home for snuggling.  We watched a Christmas movie while we waited.  Before long our sister was back home, and we were allowed to open all our presents.  Scarlett really enjoyed her first Christmas, and she loved opening presents!

Then mom and our sister went over Grandma's house.  Holly was invited to go, because it was her birthday.  She spent the day getting cookies and taking turns laying in front of the fire with our collie cousin, Chase.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, or whichever holiday you celebrate!

It's almost here...

We stayed up late last night, to finish making Christmas cookies.  (with lots of collie supervision!) Then when I finally made it to bed, I couldn’t fall asleep.  I think I ended up sleeping about two hours last night.  But it’s Christmas Eve, and they are letting us leave work at 11:00 AM today.  The gifts are all wrapped, the  cookies are made, and the collies are eagerly waiting for Santa to arrive.

I’m not sure why, but Holly, Kori and Scarlett were all pretty naughty yesterday.  Holly stole two Christmas cookies off the counter.  Scarlett and Kori were grabbing everything they could find.  At one point they grabbed some garland, and shredded it on bed!

What do you mean Santa is still watching?

Ryder and Abby were good, but then these two are always good!  We took Ryder to the beach, because I wanted to take a couple pictures.

Hope everyone has a Merry little Christmas! (and for those who do not celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!)

Uh oh! Scarlett hears the news...

What!?!  The world is going to end tomorrow?

But there is so much beauty in this world...

Just look at this endless ocean, isn't it gorgeous?  I would like to see where it goes...

I am going to have to give this some serious thought...Because how could the world end before I get to have my first Christmas?  I have presents to open!  How could a good puppy like me, who has been waiting her WHOLE life for Santa to come, miss out on her very first Christmas?

And there is this great big world to explore...and so many dog shows to enter!  Fortunately, we have heard from New Zealand...And they are still here!

Apparently, some people are still predicting the worst.  They say the world won't end until 6:00 PM on 12/21, Mayan time.  Those Mayans sure are specific.  We should ask them how they came up with such a specific date and time....have you seen any Mayans for me to ask?

No?

They are all gone?

Huh, guess they weren't very good at predicting their own ending...should we trust that they were able to predict ours?  I'm just going wait, with my paws crossed, and we'll see what happens!

Sometimes, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it!

I tend to make up songs for my collies, and sing the songs to them.  (not terribly well either, but the collies aren’t critics!)  They get very happy, and bounce and wag their tails, especially if they hear their names in the songs.  Since it’s Christmas time, this is my newest song for them, and since it has lots of words they recognize, they love it! (sung to the music of “All I Want For Christmas is my Two Front Teeth.”)

All we want for Christmas
Is Bully sticks
And Stuffy toys
Gee, if we could only have stinky cow hooves
Then we would have a Merry Collie Christmas!

It seems so long since we last had
Yummy Christmas treats!
Gosh, oh gee, how happy We'd be!
Because getting lots of presents is just so sweet!

All we want for Christmas are loves and rubs
Loves and belly rubs, and kisses and hugs!
Gee, if we could only have kisses and hugs,
Then we would have a Merry Collie Christmas!

Do you sing to your dogs?  Do they like it, and get happy?

Look what the mailman brought us...

Today the mailman brought a surprise!  He delivered a big box, that smelled very interesting!  It was our Christmas package from Stella of The Three Little Pugs!  Mom and our human sister discussed whether they should let us open it now, or make us wait until Christmas.  The whole time they were talking we gave them our best pleading looks and cried softly while wagging our tails...

And we convinced them!  (Well, we convinced our human sister, who helped us convince mom.  She thought we should wait, but Mom was outnumbered! BOL)

So what was inside?

What is it?  What is it?

It's Chewies!

Look at all this stuff!  Just for us!

Investigating!

(Ryder, Pumpkin and Scarlett are very curious!)

(Scarlett found the giant box of cookies!)

Time for an even closer look!

Collie free-for-all!

We were so excited!  This was the best thing to happen all month!

Look at all the great stuff Stella and her mom sent us!  There was even a book for mom!  And not just one frisbee, but two!  Thank you so much Stella and Stella's mom!

We'd write more, but Om Nom Nom, we are a little busy!

And this week, our mom also received a package, just for her!  It was from Oskar, at Pet Blogs United!  He had a raffle, and our mom won this book!  She said the cover picture looks like a typical night at our house!

Thank you so much!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus!

Ryder here, I thought I would borrow Mom's computer and tell you about my day!

We had a busy day today, and I am one tired collie!  Mom had to work this morning, she never works on Saturdays, but she said it was a teacher in-service and it was mandatory.  I don't like my mom leaving me on the weekend, that's our time together!

But she made it up to us.  My human sister had to work all day, the dog kennel where she works was doing pictures with Santa, to raise money for the local shelter.  So mom took me, Kori and Scarlett to see Santa.  I  got to see him a week ago, when he was on the beach, and today he stopped by the kennel!  I think Santa is such a great guy, making time to visit with all of us pups during his busiest time of year!

.
Don't we look cute with Santa?

While we were standing in line, waiting for our turn, I happened to catch my girl making friends with another dog!  Boy, was I jealous!  But I know it's part of her job to make the dogs staying at the kennel happy, because they are missing their families.

Next weekend Abby and Holly get to go visit Santa, he is going to be at Petsmart!  He sure does love dogs!

Collie collections...

I was visiting the blogs of my fellow bloggers, and I noticed something.  Those who were devoted to a particular breed of dog, tend to have a lot of breed specific collectibles.  It's nice to know that I am not the only one!

From books...

To knick knacks

And even decorations!

So do you collect dog items?  What's in your collections?
