Collie collections...

I was visiting the blogs of my fellow bloggers, and I noticed something.  Those who were devoted to a particular breed of dog, tend to have a lot of breed specific collectibles.  It's nice to know that I am not the only one!

From books...

To knick knacks

And even decorations!

So do you collect dog items?  What's in your collections?

  1. Bowsers, that is quite a collie collection. We only have a few collie items. We'll save that for a later post though.

    1. I'll look forward to reading it!

I am a little obsessed. But some of the stuff I actually inherited from my Uncle Fran, the first collie lover in our family. He's the reason why my sister, mother, daughter and I all have collies. :)

  2. All very beautiful collections. We have a few figurines, but mostly just stuffies that we don't get to play with:)

    1. Mom has some collie stuffies, and we aren't allowed to play with hers either. Scarlett grabbed one off the shelf the other day, and mom took it away from her immediately. No fun! But mom said we have toy boxes full of dog toys and we don't need collie stuffies too. We would argue, but Santa might be watching...

  3. that is a cool collection - we don't really have anything as none of the sheltie collectables really look like us (being white like we are) it is fun to collect them though

    1. yes, being white would make it a challenge. I just ended up collecting all the coat varieties, because I figure one day I might have collies in other colors. :)

    1. Many of the figurines belonged to my uncle. I don't have any pillows though. I'll have to work on that! Some of the artwork/prints are by Ramonette Dugan, and she does sell her prints on Ebay from time to time.

  6. Wow! I have zero acd things. Of course - I'm lazy and shudder at the thought of dusting all those knickknacks! Collie owners are not lazy - you can't be with that beautiful coat to groom! Love all your little treasures - especially the books and pics! Collies are so gorgeous though - love it all!!

    1. :) It does take time to dust all those collie figurines! But maybe you will start receiving ACD gifts from friends and family, that's usually how these collections begin! lol

  8. Jackie is my stepdaughter's dog and they both live with us - so she is his Mom.

I am the "other-mommy" because I refuse to be called grandma :) But I am also the one that feeds him, cleans up after him, makes coats for him, buys him treats and and food and cuddles him all day!)

I am really just Mom to Reilly and Denny though - they are my special boys. Confusing isn't it :)

    1. Oh, I understand! Holly was suppose to be my daughter's collie, but I'm the one who takes care of her, spoils her, and pays the vet bills! :)

    1. You should start! Once family knows you collect something, every birthday and holiday gift will be Oug related though! :)

  10. Oh wow, that sure is an impressive collection! I tend to be too distractable to stick to gathering one particular thing. When I was a teenager I had a thing for cows and had quite a collection of cow-related figurines but haven't accumulated anything in a long time. It looks like you have put a lot of thought into your aggrangements!

    1. I use to like cows too! Still do I guess! But there just isn't room for multiple collections. :)

  11. oh my do I have collie collectibles!! Books, ornaments, figurines, you name it. I got my first collie in 1975 so you can imagine the collecting I have done! I really like your glass ones, I haven't seeen those before. Also I LOVE the print with all the collies running in the snow, can you tell me the person who painted it, I would love to have one!

    1. Thank you! The print of the collies running is called "New Toys." It's by Ramonett Dugan. She sells her prints on Ebay, but doesn't have any on sale right now. This is her Ebay store, you can try contacting her.

The other print below it is one of hers too. :)

The glass collies are Mosser glass. And they are on sale on Ebay right now. They stopped making them, so the prices are starting to go up.

  13. You have a beautiful collection of items. We have four furry kids, lots of fur around the house and on my peeps, and headless, dismembered stuffies. That's kind of our collection.

  14. We got nothing, well, one book on ACDs that a friend found at a charity book sale. All of our photos are of the pack. Like Sam who commented, we too have the headless and dismembered stuffies!
